    3. Ian Unless someone on the List has the data readily available I would check the Glasgow Obituaries in the Glagow Newspapers. The Glasgow newspaper are found via Google, URL: http://tinyurl.com/y9pmrwa Bob Cdn =============== On 20/01/2010 3:40 PM, Ian Grant wrote: <SNIP>...I'll be in Glasgow in 3 weeks time and wonder if someone can let me know how to trace where the following are buried. 3. With the inkling that he had something to bequeath, I would expect that my ancestor John Campbell would have made a new will, after his second marriage in Glasgow in 1847. John emigrated to Western Australia and then to Ceylon(now Sri Lanka). John died in Colombo, Ceylon in early 1862. Can anyone please point me to where I might be able to locate such a will, if it exists.. 3. All wills and testaments up to 1901 known about by the National Archives of Scotland are indexed on ScotlandsPeople. The indexes are free to view, but there is a charge for a copy of a will. Wills of people who died abroad are most likely to be recorded under Edinburgh. Also, if none of the paperwork was dealt with or generated in Scotland, there may be very little to see. I would suggest you try the Wills and Testaments section of ScotlandsPeople and, if you need to know more, seek the help of the people at NAS, who you will find are both kind and helpful.
