    3. I have always wondered about the following. What is the difference between Lanark-bounces and the Lanark list. Why is there a Lanark bounces, when people can just post to the list. Where are people posting to when they post to Lanark-bounces?? Frank Easton Sherwood Park Ab -9c

    3. RootsWeb lists are operated using software called "Mailman," and "Lanark-bounces" is nothing more than identification for a portion of a that software at RootsWeb that sends mail to this list, and it has no other function. I also does not accept incoming mail and if you send mail to that address, it is simply deleted with no response, which is a common practice for such servers not only at RootsWeb but elsewhere as well. To post to the list, you need to send it to the correct address for doing so. I hope this answers your question. David E.
