Hello List Does anyone have information on these couples William Hamilton and Agnes Stewart had a son William born abt 1848 when he married in 1873 he was a Fish Curer. He married Elizabeth Gillies on 05 Sep 1873 in Bridgeton, Glasgow . At the date of the marriage they both lived at 68 Muslin Street. This is the address that Alexander Reid was living when he married in 1883 so I think they must still be living in the house . Elizabeth was the daughter of Alexander Gillies ,Cabinet Maker and Agnes Falconer. Any information Will be most Welcome. Bob

Hello Bob Thank you for the information The marriage is interesting as the couple I am seeking the son of William Hamilton and Agnes Stewart, also named William Hamilton Married an Elizabeth Gillies on 05 Sep 1873 his age is givan as 25 hers as 36 . Elizabeth had had her children by then. The first child was Elizabeth shown on the IGI C116441 as born to Elizabeth no husband given although on her marriage Certificate she gives Hugh Mcintyre and Elizabeth Hamilton ,formerly McIntyreM,S, Gillies. The next child is on the same IGI number Ann McIntyre 19 Dec 1864 this time parents are Hugh McIntyre ,Tobacco Spinner and Elizabeth Gillies. . The next is a son William Hamilton born 27 Aug 1867 to William Hamilton and Elizabeth McIntyre , I cannot find Hugh on a census or the IGI or Ancestry. On the 1871 census William and Elizabeth have Agnes Hamilton aged 2 and Lemima Hamilton 2 months, the 1881 shows Mrs Hamilton aged 45 , Elizabeth McIntyre aged 25, Agnes Hamilton 13 and Martha who must be Lemima aged 10. Elizabeth McIntyre had a child named Elizabeth Reid to to James Reid in 1882 and married in in 1883, James Reids mother was a Janet Reid M,S, Hamilton , The whole lot seemed to like getting married after the fact, Elizabeth Reid married 3 times and is the connection to my tree.
