Hello Nivard I think Alexander fits the bill, His mother died of Syphyllis in New Monkland Workhouse on Oct 15 1859 she was a widow at the time , so Alexander would be an orphan at a very young age. He would have been under 5 at his mothers death. I have not checked the later Canadien Census ,I will have to check that also passenger records from Canada to Scotland Bob
