Hello Nivard The sum total of my knowledge of James Reid and Janet Hamilton is from their son Alexander Reid's marriage Certificate of the 29th of December 1883 between Alexander Reid, aged 25 ,Engineers Driller of 68 Muslin Street Glasgow and Elizabeth McIntyre aged 25 10 Old Dalmarnock Road Glasgow, Alexander Reid 's father was an Iron Foundry Labourer .deceased and his mother was Janet Reid ms Hamilton , deceased I have the death certificate kindly supplied by Rhoda. 68 Muslin Street was Elizabeth's Mothers address who is a complicated lady, Elizabeth Hamilton formerly McIntyre MS Gillies . Elizabeth's Father was Hugh McIntyre, Tobacco Spinner I have the family after the wedding living in Polmont, Stirlingshire. Rhoda found an Alexander Reid aged 13 born Lanarkshire in the Mossbank Industrial School in 1871. That is all I know of James Reid and Janet Hamilton. I went to the Lanarkshire Archives and they did not have the Records for the Mossbank School . they had just moved to a new location and received a lot of files from the Mitchell Library.
