Yes! mine are from Chirnside as well. I have Jean Darling who married Alexander Knox on 5 January 1766 at Chirnside and had at least 5 children. I am descended from their daughter Elizabeth born 1769. I have not been successful in finding Jean Darling's parents. Could Jean be from one of your Darling families? Hi Doreen, I have not been able to go that far back. I am stuck with my g.g.g.grandfather John Darling who was born approx in 1811. According to records he was born in the parish of Chirnside, Harelaw, Berwick. He emigrated to Ontario. I have not been able to find his parents which is so frustrating. He married Elizabeth Mackay either in Scotland or Ontario. I have contacted other related family members and they also cannot go pass John Darling.
