I find useful the book "List of inscriptions on tombstones and monuments in Ceylon, of historical or local interest, with an obituary of persons uncommemorated (1913) by J Penry Lewis, C.M.G., Ceylon Civil Service, retired. Printed by H. C. Cottle, Government Printer, Ceylon" The *.pdf version can be downloaded from http://www.archive.org/download/cu31924007648516/cu31924007648516.pdf. I find www.archive.org OCR work pretty pathetic so I use Acrobat Pro to do character recognition for me. Note: MI's are short so if there is quite a bit of writing it has been by way of family obituaries included.
