I have several marriage entries from the New Monkland parish register between 1840 and 1850 and with one exception the wording is invariably along the following lines, "xth Sabbath. Collected from yyyy and zzzz both in this parish 19/6". The exception is ".... yyyy in this parish and zzzz in the parish of Shotts ....". The amount collected varies from 3/6 (three shillings and sixpence) to 19/6 (nineteen shillings and sixpence). I am fairly sure that the date in the original record will not actually be 1 September 1845 but just September 1845. (It is definitely NOT 9 January 1845!). I would not recommend paying money to download this particular entry from Scotland's People. > Would the above give me a copy with parents names. Hello Anne I have Janet,s Death death certificate kindly provided by Rhoda several months ago. I keep coming back to people I am missing information on .
