Further Thoughts ... ! Since 'dissenters' [ members of the non-conformist Churches ] would not necessarily have their family baptisms recorded in the Established Church's 'Parish Registers (unless there were property inheritances involved) then the 'Militia pool' of elegible men (by age) would , in times of low numbers, be tempted to call on families to fight against their own !
