    3. Does anyone have a clue what Episcopal Church someone might have attended if they lived in Calton in the 1840s?       I'm looking for births of my McIntyre family who were in Calton in 1851 census.  I can't find them for the 1841, but a son b. in 1841 listed Glasgow as birth.  Later, when they lived elsewhere they were married in St. John Episcopal in Dumfries, and the mother was from Brampton, Cumberland, so I'm wondering if that is why I can't find anything on the IGI.       It has come to my attention from a private email, that Mr. Cann thinks he is following the proscripts of the mailing list to the T.  Which may be true.  He just doesn't have any social graces....nor patience...nor good tact.  Try and be patient with him.  Two wrongs don't make a right.

    3. By what miracle did your message get through to the list...?? Synonyms: _proscript Noun:__ prohibition, proscription, interdict, anathema, ban, barrier, cessation, curse, detention, edict, embargo, hindrance, obstruction, suppression. Consider also::__ obstacle, bar, drawback, impediment, interruption, bane, barricade, decree, deterrent, difficulty, exclusion, exile, veto, delay, hitch, inconvenience. Other:___barring, debarment, taboo. Cerainly not the most encouraging or enticing atmosphere for a genealogy/"Family" history site..and not the atmosphere found on many other sites which foster goodwill amongst members..and administrators. "Open Door policy" and listening skills are practiced by good managers of any organisation. ---- Original Message ----- From: "MARC ARCHER" <marcher56@att.net> To: <Lanark-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, June 19, 2010 11:45 AM Subject: Re: [Lanark] Episcopal Church near Calton It has come to my attention from a private email, that Mr. Cann thinks he is following the proscripts of the mailing list to the T.
