How can I find a Lair in the Southern Necropolis, when I only have the name, date of death, & name of Undertaker, R. McIntyre? ( ie death certificate ) Also , I know it is in the Gorbals, but is there a bus or train near by? Any help appreciated! Ruth
Ruth, I'm not real sure of my geography, but try the South Lanarkshire Council. They were very helpful in locating a lair in West Cemetery in Hamilton. It's in the middle of the city. BTW neither South Lanarkshire nor North Lanarkshire Councils will be able to help in this instance, as the Southern Necropolis isn't in their areas. HTH
Hi Ruth, The lair registers for the Southern Necropolis have been filmed and you can view them in the Glasgow and Family History Room at the Mitchell Library and they also have the lair plans.You can order in the register films at your local LDS Family History Centre.
