Hello Robert, My Hamiltons are from Lanarshire as well. Are yours related to the Inglis line? I'd be interested in sharing information. Thanks, Ann Hamilton --- On Wed, 6/30/10, R. Hello Robert and Ann I have several Hamilton branches in my tree John Hamilton mar Beatrice Watson 1772 William Hamilton mar Ann Jack 1804 John Hamilton mar Mary Dick 1825 John Hamilton mar Jane Wardlaw 1857 I also have some Frames I have the families to go with these names if you are interested. My area of interest at the moment is a Janet Hamilton who married James Reid in 1845 in Bridgeton, Lanark . Janet died in the poorhouse and no one had her information just that she was the wife of James Reid, The couple had a son Alexander in abt 1854 who married Elizabeth McIntyre. Hi Allison and Bob, Well I now know you both are probably not related to me. However you probably are related to these people in this Hamilton DNA study that I participate in (you may already be members, but I'll post it anyway for anyone who may be interested). F-204 and H-011 both have Frames from Lanarkshire: http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/g/a/gah4/HamDNA/EAnc.html#H164 I'm afraid my DNA only matches two other Hamiltons in the group (we are Group T). Our DNA matches Hamilton, Inglis and Joyners. We seem to come from Alexander Hamilton's family who was asked by his Uncle Alexander Inglis to take over the Murdostoun estate and Inglis name. None of us have a family tree link that we can find as we only can find American relatives dating back to the early 1700s. We only have our DNA. I'm hoping someone in Great Britain has the geneology from Lanarkshire for my group.
