It was pointed out in an article on St. Patrick's Day, that most people in the U.S. who had ancestors living in the U.S. before 1800, have some Scotch Irish ancestry, whether they know it or not. Many people also have Protestant Irish ancestors who came later, from both Scotland and England. In addition to the Catholic Irish who emigrated in the mid 19th century. Is this your own wish, Ruth? My mother has Irish on her side, but my father was mainly Scottish with a smidgin of English...so I am a product of the British Isles and not just Scotland. -----Original Message----- From: ruth.enns via Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2016 12:29 AM To: lanark@rootsweb.com Subject: [Lanark] Fw: HAPPY 17th of Ireland! !
