    3. Hello Florence Alexander Reid was born about 1857 in New Monkland , this is according to the census records from 1881,1891, and his death certificate of 02Jul 1899 .He died in Polmont ,Stirlingshire. I could never find him in 1861 or 1871 . Rhode found an Alexander Reid of the right age and born Lanarkshire in The Mossend Industrial School in 1871 but this is in Renfrew. I have his mothers death Certificate of September 1859 ,She was a widow and died of Syphyllis 12 months. I took his Parents from his marriage certificate when he married Elizabeth McIntyre on the 29th Dec 1882 . The couple had a daughter Elizabeth born 1882 at the marriage he lived it her mothers house on Muslin Street and she lived on Old Dalmarnock Road. My email yesterday was I was wondering about all the Hamilton's connected to that small tree, my thought was might someone have a part of the tree in their line then we might find where to look next Thank you Bpb -------------------------------------------------- From: "florence meade" <kichtabearound@hotmail.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 14, 2010 11:01 AM To: <lanark@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [Lanark] LANARK Digest, Vol 5, Issue 171

    3. Could Alexander Reid's parents possibly be Peter Reid and spouse Isabella Stewart instead of James and Janet Hamilton? I'm looking at the 1851 Kilbride, Lanark census for Christina Reid parents Peter Reid and Isabella (Stewart). I'm finding Peter Reid b 1824 Rutherglen, Lanark, wife Isabella with step children Christian Scott Age 1842 step-daughter, and Alexander Scott b 1846 and daughter Janet Reid 2 weeks b. 1851. 2. Hi Bob, No I haven't had the DNA tests. I've been thinking about it, but just haven't gotten that far. Sounds like I need to make a move. You're right about William & John. Another gentleman did find my Great Grandmother & Great Aunt on Scotland's People. He said that others I am looking for are there, but he sent be the death register for those two. I figure I'll bite the bullet and pay some to see what I can find. Thanks for the information. The Grandchildren of Ann Ferrier Mitchell were the youngest of their generation, and didn't know most of their Grand Mothers siblings. With My grandparents in the United States, there was very little contact with their siblings or their families. The 1891 census is the only one that shows all family members. 3. Hi, looking to find some more information on John and Christina ANDREW (Mennie). They were married 23 NOV 1865 Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. I have found two children against these parents in FamilySearch; Ann - born 5 Sep 1866, Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland and David - born 21 Sep 1868, Middle or New Parish, Greenock, Renfrew, Scotland My reason for searching on John and Christina, is that I have an Ann Miri ANDREW who is my wife's ggmother but that is all we know about her. I have found a family named Andrew who arrived in Maryborough, Queensland in Oct 1878 on the ship "Caroline". This family consisted of; John 48, Christina 38, Elizabeth 17, Ann 13, David 11, Robert 4, Christina 2 and Maggie Inf. Ann's Queensland cemetery records show her as being "Annie Miri GLASS (Andrew)" and with a birth date of 1865, so the dates/age is very close. Any and all help would be most appreciated. regards Phil... Qld, Aus...
