    3. Roberta, Where is your Archibald and Catherine? There are several Archibalds in Pennsylvania in the mid 1700's and also the name is associated with a branch in Canada. It sounds as if you are talking about a family in the Lanark area. The branches we have knowledge of in  North America have their origins from the isle of Bute. 3. Hi Dean, I have never found anything about my FRAME. I have a Elizabeth FRAME b1814 in Glasgow. On the 1841 census there was a John FRAME living with her and husband Henry DICK and children. He was 15 and a coalminer. Henry and Elizabeth were married 31st Dec 1835 in Bridgton Glasgow. Elizabeth died before 1855. So it is a hard one to solve. All the best Allison. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dean Scapolo" <scapolo.dean@clear.net.nz> To: <lanark@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 26, 2009 8:18 AM Subject: Re: [Lanark] Frame > Thanks Julie, > > I see this line connects to my other side-line of Frame. > Wonder if I'll find any more Frame in my tree... probably. > > Dean Scapolo > Newlands, Wellington, NZ > New Zealand Music Charts Consultant (Informal) > http://nzchartbooks.blogspot.com/ > http://www.abbamail.com/nzchart_book.htm > > > ------------------------------- > > LANARK, SCOTLAND MAILING LIST > > > LIST TOPIC: The discussion and research of genealogy or history > information pertaining to Lanark, Scotland at any point in its history. > > WHEN REPLYING to any list post please remember to snip most of the earlier > message before you post any reply > > LIST INFORMATION PAGE: Contact the List Admin at > lanark-admin@rootsweb.com; or to search the list archives, get information > on subscribing or unsubscribing, or to obtain other useful information to > help you use the list more effectively, please click on the following link > to the list information page online: > > http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/SCT/LANARK.html > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > LANARK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. We will be taking his ashes to Scotland to be interred beside Mum's...... he was a super person, and is missed....he told me loads of "stuff" about his years in Scotland and Canada, I have it all documented....which I am forever pleased I did....... 3. There have been some exchanges recently about the HADDOW families from Lanarkshire. In our line we have Mary HADDOW born 1778, daughter of John HADDOW and Mary Creighton. She married Walter Baxter in 1797 and died aged 80 in 1858 at 19 Collier Row, Westmuir, Lanarkshire and is buried at Shettleston Burial Ground. She was my husband's 3 x great-grandmother and her son David was his gg-grandfather. Is anyone linked to this family? Doreen Baxter -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter. 3. If, as a pauper, he ever applied for Poor Relief there should be a copy of his application in the Glasgow Room at the Mitchell library. An e-mail might elicit the looking up of his name on the computer based indexed but a photocopy of any record will cost 10GBP. But sometimes these records have an amazing amount of information. Alternatively you could employ a Glasgow based researcher? archives@csglasgow.org Irene Here is the burial record from Cambusnethan cemetery for this man. > BENJAMIN WILLETS. 1. [Lanark] Death of Christine Joudrey's father
    2. Maisie Egger
    3. We extend our sympathies to Christine Joudrey, our former Lanark list administrator, in the death of her father, Andrew McQuilken, 1916-2009. >From Christine: My father passed away in his sleep during our Thanksgiving weekend.....he went as he wanted in his own bed, and sleeping....the last few weeks he seemed to not have a lot of energy, but God love him, he always tried to be himself and not worry anyone......Good Scottish stock as I say.....I miss him terribly, but at 93 he lived a fantastic life, never sick, never in hospital, and was determined he was not going into one, so I kept him home, although every second day a nurse came in, and he always tried to be cheerful when she came..... We will be taking his ashes to Scotland to be interred beside Mum's...... he was a super person, and is missed....he told me loads of "stuff" about his years in Scotland and Canada, I have it all documented....which I am forever pleased I did....... " Christine's father sounds like one of a kind, and over the years she would share some of his down-to-earth typically no-nonsense Scottish outlook on life. She and her family are to be commended for offering the shelter of their home to their father-grandfather in his later years. Blessings to Christine, in the hope that she will have no greater health challenges in the coming year. Christine's e-mail address, if you wish to send a personal message: cjjoud@rogers.com Maisie
