I've been a member for about a month now and I haven't seen any activity from Ga or Al researchers. I posted query several days ago. Are there any researching Ga, Al on the list. I hit a stone wall in 1860 in Tallapoosa Co Al with my John Luke Lamberth. Lambert, John 27m Ga Susan 30f Al Joanna 7f " John 1m " Per an aunt John Luke's father was James Edward Lamberth who married Cynthia Caroline Fincher. John Luke was born 19Oct1833 in Ga. I've looked at all James that came into or through Ga(12 in all) with no definite connections. Hi again, I have pulled my line and here it is: Earliest ancestor is John Lambert, Sr. b. ca 1730-32 in Onslow Co., NC area died ca 1802 in Georgia; lived in Rowan Co. Nc in 1754; moved from Yadkin River in NC to Wilkes Co., GA and bought land in 1780s.. In NC Continental Line in Revolution. Rec'd land grant from Gov. NC in 1746 for Lambert Plantation location in Beaufort, NC; In 1748 sold land to Richard Allen. John Lambert I lived in Onslow NC when land grant was given. Info contained in Hollingsworth Papers on microfilm at Gadsden Public Library. Early Lamberts of GA is taken from notes & research of Joseph B. Lambert, 1956 Linneman St. Glenview, IL 60025. Wife : Unknown. Children are: 1) John Lambert, Jr. (my line) married Jerusha Morgan (first) ca 1777. She was born ca 1755, died ca 1785. (I have his letter stating all of the above.) He fought at Chancellorsville, Cedar Run, Wilderness, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, Knoxville, surrendered with Lee's Army at Appomattox. Walked home from VA, eating from pig troughs to stay alive, told to my dad by CC Evans, his grandfather who died in 1919. He was a S/Sgt and received a battlefield commission to Capt. during fight at Gettysburg. Willie Susan Evans/Reason Mabry Jordan are my grandparents, my line goes to their son, Meyer Jordan, (my father) and me. Hope this helps someone. Would like to hear from anyone related to this line.
