    1. [LAMBERT] Listowner back for a week!

    3. Hi! I'm back in for a week, then I'll be off again on a short trip to visit relatives and the archives in Alabama! :) I had over 2000 messages awaiting my return. :( I've gone through and deleted MANY of them, mostly just keeping the ones from "my" lists. If you've sent me a question and I don't respond by Saturday evening, please send it again, since I may have gotten Delete-Happy. :) My *saddest* moment while in Washington, D.C. last week was going into the Tourist side of the National Archives to see the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the 1297 copy of the Magna Carta on loan from Ross Perot but *NOT* being able to go around to the research side for a few hours. Two days is not nearly enough to be in DC. :( Someday I'll go back and look at military records! If the new, higher fees "stick", it may well be worth the price of a hotel room there for a few days to save the $40 per file cost for copies! :) Though I don't know how much they charge for you to make your own copies. Hope everyone is having a pleasant June! :) Becky lambertr@cei.net Christian Faith Matters: http://www.cei.net/~lambertr/ Kith & Kin Genealogy: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~kithnkin/ Lupus and more: http://ilesa.tripod.com/index.html "Don't be so open-minded that your brain falls out!"

    3. I live in the DC Metro. I tell people if they are going to visit the couple dozen Smithsonian museums to plan a day for each, two days to walk the Mall/Memorials/Historic buildings and a few days to let your dogs rest. Got to have walking shoes. And, everything is free. Plan on many days if you are going to the Archives and same with the Library of Congress. Many historic libraries, like Alexandria, Leesburg, Manasas, Annapolis, etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rebecca Lambert" <lambertr@cei.net> To: <LAMBERT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 15, 2000 7:52 PM Subject: [LAMBERT] Listowner back for a week! > Hi!
