I love LAMBERT skeletons. My great-grandfather, Archibald LAMBERT listed his place of birth as Virginia on the 1900 Norfolk VA census. On the 1920 census in Atlantic City, NJ he list his place of birth as New York. So considering the times, when he was in the South he was a confederate and when he was in the North he was a Yankee. He went whichever way the wind blows. Family history says he operated a bar in Baltimore or Norfolk with a house of ill repute in the back room. He also witnessed a lynching of a black man and took home a cut off finger, which his daughter said she saw. It might explain why he moved north. If white LAMBERTS held slaves in VA then Black and White LAMBERTS in VA are probably cousins. Who opened the skeleton door anyway?
