Hi, Can the person who was seeking Lamberts from Barking, UK. please contact me. Thanks Brenda <ajmac@internet.co.nz>
Hi everyone, I have just signed up for this list and thought I would say hello. My name is Leanne Turnbull, I'm an Aussie, and naturally I am researching the Lambert surname. Or should I say 'trying' to research the name <sigh>. My ggg-grandmother was Isabella Lambert, and she married William Bolam Turnbull on November 29 1828, in All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland. I know that Isabella & William were living in or near Annfield Plain, County Durham in the 1850's. What I do not know, is when & where Isabella was born, and when & where Isabella died. I assume she would have been buried with her husband in Annfield Plain. I have searched the IGI files for her birth, and have come up with six possibilties. All of those entries were recorded in Northumberland. I hope all of this isn't too confusing, and that maybe someone out there knows of this Isabella (it can't hurt to dream <grin>). Bye for now Leanne Turnbull bdl@telpacific.com.au

Gail My g-g-grandfather was William Holmes born (going from this old memory) 1822 in New York. I have not been able to locate his parents. One of his grandsons had stated that he was born in Scotland but census records show NY. He was supposedly of Scotch, English, and possibly Dutch. Does any of this sound familiar? Are there any LAMBERT researchers? Almira LAMBERT (b July 1823 NY or MA - d 15 January 1862, Lorain Co., OH). She married John BRAZIE on 20 June 1842, in Elyria. I have no parental information on her - did her parents, siblings move west? If Almira sounds familiar, how about Samuel BALDWIN? He remains a mystery to me: He is NOT mentioned in the 1878 will of John BRASIE of Lorain County, OH, but is listed on a 'Next of Kin' distribution form for probate as 'son' (with 'Brasie' inserted between his first and last name) in 1891. He had not been on previous census records and the recorded children bear the BRASIE/BRAZEE name. His name comes after the birth order of his natural children born to him and Almira LAMBERT, but before the one grandchild that is listed to inherit. Possible step-son of: John BRASIE (1816 NY -1891 OH) m (1) Almira LAMBERT (1823-1862) 1842 in Elyria, Lorain Co., Ohio; or m (2) Julia BRENT 1864 Lorain Co., Ohio. Dear Linda, I am just beginning my search and appreciate any help that you could afford me. I live in Eugene, OR and am really at quite a loss as to how to search across country. The only information that I have is: William Ramey Lambert who married Joan Shepherd in 1959. Their children were Claudia and Susan who were both born between 1960 and 1963. Thanks, Anne Marie
Linda and Anne Marie, Do either of you have Lambert relatives going back to Allen County, KY. I have my family traced back to Henry Price Lambert. I am almost convinced that he came here from Wales. Hi Anne Marie Thanks for the reply. My Lamberts are from the Sheffield area of South Yorkshire, England.
