Hello all, I got the url for this site from another list. I went and there are Lamberts on this site. http://www.nps.gov/vick/parole/cp_t.htm Julie Lambert
My understanding is that the ROOTSWEB lists, like this one, will only accept plain text messages. No HTML formatted messages or attachments are allowed. Thus, it should always be safe to open a ROOTSWEB message. However, if you send directly to members of the group, and also add them to your address book, you could get such problems. > ATTACHMENT part 2 message/rfc822 > Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 10:20:01 +0800 > From: "Joan Gasson" <eljoro@iinet.net.au> > To: LAMBERT-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [LAMBERT] Virus > > please dont open any attachments from me for > yesterday I received a virus which appears to have > infected my address book. Lambert slambert@gscrods.com While searching for my Lambert Ancestors I came across this reference in William Willis Boddie's History of Williamsburg County(South Carolina) pg. 56 "On August 10, 1756, thirty-two Acadians were sent to Prince Frederick's Church and distributed among the good people of that Parish for sustenance and support. Among these Acadians were Joseph Durong (Durant) and his wife, Ann Lambert; and their children, Mary, Josette, Ann, Margaret, Mary Ann, and Rosalie; John Daigle and his wife Rosalie Richard, and their child, John Baptist; Peter Lambert and his sons Peter and John; Francois LeBlanc and his wife, Magdalene Comie, and their children, Josetta, Ozick, Magdalene, Tesslie, and Margaret; Paul Oliver and his wife, Magdalene Bourk; Margaret Daigle Forrait and her three children, Paul , Larion, and John Baptist; John Baptist Porrier; Michell Porrier, Pierre Caisee; Michell Lapierre; and Renaie Drowhanny" Some of the names are not spelled correctly in this history. But, this may give someone a lead to find a lost relative. Prince Frederick Parish consisted of; part of Georgetown County, Horry County, Marion County, Dillon County, Florence County and Williamsburg County. All are in north east, South Carolina near the North Carolina - South Carolina Border. Hope this helps someone! ==== ACADIAN-CAJUN Mailing List ==== ACADIAN-CAJUN Chat Room: Meet and "talk" to your cousins every Sunday at 7:00 PM (Eastern). Looking for Emory Peter Lambert. He was born about Sept 20, 1922/23. This was my mother's sweetheart during the early 40's and she would like to find out if he is still living and if he is OK. Anyone out there have a clue. Want to do something for my mother (Frances Vaughan) in her last remaining years. Barbara E-mail: Bgage4911@aol.com

I am glad somebody here is scholarly. I think I was responding emotionally and as so often happens in such circumstances, not correctly, so thank you for looking up Webster for us, the census person was being totally correct in his description of this lady's occupation. well done ! Parents of Elijah and Issac Lambert are Job Lambert and Hannah. she is believed to be the daughter of James and Mary Rice. Job was born aft. 1760 in Montgomery co. VA and died bef. 1815 in Cabell (Kanawha Co) WV. Cabell Co was formed in 1809. Job and Hannah married abt. 1788 in VA. Hannah appears as a widow on the 1815 Tax Roll. Hannah remarried in 1819 to John Withrow and they moved to Lawrence, Ky by the 1820 census. Then they moved to IA about 1849, and Hannah died in Fremont Co. IA after 1850. Job was very active in politics. He was instrumental in forming several counties in Va and WV. He was one of the first settlers who settled in Huntington, WV. It is said that he owned the land where Huntington now sits, although no record can be found to support this. It is interesting to note that Job lived during the terms of four presidents, namely, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Linda

I have often wondered if he could the son of Benjamin Lambert who was in Onslow county NC around 1750's.
