If interested please contact Jo Autrey. SARAH E. AUTREY Sarah was born 17 Aug 1827 in Perry Co., Ala. She married Albert H. Neighbors on 23 Dec 1844 in Perry Co., Ala. They moved to Union Parish La. in 1849, and by 1870 Sara and Albert Neighbors had moved to Bowie County, Texas. They had eleven children: Elizabeth, Julia A., Jane, Independence, William A., Harriet, Mary R., Sarah, James, Adella W., and Missie B. E. JOHN MABE AUTREY John Mabe was born 12 Dec `828 in Perry Co., Ala. He married Dianacy (Dicy) A. Wallace, on 3 Oct 1851 in Union Parish, La. This part of Union Parish later became part of current Lincoln Parish, La. John Mabe and Dicy had eleven children: Mary Frances, Jane P., Thomas Marion, Ephram Pennington, Carrie Elizabeeth, John Absalom, Martha Judy, Diannah, Sara E., Charles Wesley and Tereanna. Many members of this family moved to McLennon, Robertson, and Tarrant Counties in Texas as well as Indiana and California. Dicy died and is buried in Waco, McLennon County, Texas. There is no known record for death and burial of John Mabe Autrey. LUCINDA AUTREY Lucinda was born 27 Oct 1829 in Perry Co. Ala. She married fist John Brown L. Mitchell on 3 Nov. 1847 in Perry Co., Ala. They had twelve children: John Abby Mary Jane, Nettie Malda, Calvin Mariion, James J., Cornelius Howard, Robert Gill, Joseph L., Willis B., Delila, Eugenia, and Martha. Lucinda (Autrey) Mitchell married second Isaac N. Carlisle 18 Oct 1885 in Lincoln Parish, La. No children from this union. Both John and Lucinda died and are buried in Lincon Parish, La. They are buried in the Henry Cembetery, Hico, La. HARRIETT AUTREY Harriet was born 6 Dec 1830 in Perry County, Ala. She married Joseph N. Wiley 22 Dec 1847 in Perry Co., Ala. And moved from Alabama to Louisiana in the fall of 1848.Joseph died in Union Parish, La. on 9 July, 1852 and was the first to be buried in the Autrey Family Cemetery behind the Absalom Autrey homeplace, in an unmarked grave. Joseph and Harriett had three children: Elizabeth Jane ,Sarah Ann, and William Wiley. Harriett (Autrey) Wiley then married Willuam Jackson Field 4 Nov 1854 in Union Parish, La. There were no children from this marriage. Harriett died 18 Feb 1858 in La., William died 3 Mar 1906 in Claiborne Parish, La. and was buried in the Arcadia Cemetery, near Arcadia, La. After Harriett's death, William Jackson Field married Harriett's sister, Celia Autrey. ELIZABERTH JANE AUTREY Elizaberth Jane was born 27 Mar 1832 in Perry Co., Ala. She married Silas Marion Fuller on 25 Oct 1850 in Union Parish, La. They had 14 children: M.E., John Willis, Thomas Andrew, Harriett Tobitha, Theodosia, Celia J., James Buchanan, Ida May Sarah Ruth, Lucinda, Mettie, Marion Preston, Cuthbert and William Adolphus. Silas died 12 Jan 1912 and Elicabeth Jane "Betsy" died 15 July 1915, both in Lincoln Parish, and are buried in the Henry Cemetery, Hico, La. WILLIAM NORRIS AUTREY William was born 26 Oct 1833 in Perry Co., Al. and married Rebecca Henry on 7 Jan 1852 in Union Parish, La. They had six children, all born in Union Parish, La.: Mary Jane, Lucinda, Nancy C., Robert Absalom, Melissa and William J. Rebecca had died by 1906 according to Willam N. Autrey's Confederat Pension Application. He lived in Union and Lincoln Parishes since moving to La. from Ala. He died 18 Aug 1918. CORNELIUS AUTREY Cornelius, known as "Chick" according to Ophelia Autrey, was born 18 Nov 1835 in Perry Co. Ala. He married Arminda Penelope Brown about 1868. Cornelius Autrey sold his land in Union Parish, La., including his inheritance from his mother'' estate, in 1871. They moved to Coryell County, Texas in 1871, purchasing land near Gatesville, Texas and farmed it. Cornelius and Arminda had three children: Sarah Ophelia , James J., and Elizaberth Oliva. Cornelius died 6 Mar 1894 and Amanda died 23 Sep 1915 in Coryell Co. Tx. They are buried in the Friendship Cemetery in Gatesville, Coryell Co. Tx. JAMES JACKSON AUTREY James Jackson was born 23 Feb 1837 in Perry Co., Ala. He never married, died in July or August 1863 in Mt. Jackson, Va. as a result of unknown disease. In 1860 he is shown to be a school teacher on the U.S. Census for Union Parish, La. CELIA J. AUTREY Celia J. was born 31 Mar 1838 in Perry Co., Al. and married William Jackson Field about 1859 in Louisiana (the widow of her sister, Harriett Autrey Wiley). Ceilia and William had six children: William Lewis, Martha Idella, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Bettie. Celia J. and William died in Claiborne parish, La.: William died 3 Mar 1906 and Celia die din 1908; both are buried in the Arcadia Cemetery at Arcadia, La. ROBERT MARTIN AUTREY Robert Martin was born 18 Aug 1840 in Perry Co., Al. and married first to Elizabeth Jane Kemp about 1865 in Dubach, La. Robert M. And Elizabeth had six children: William Absalom, Elbert Eugene [my husband's grandfather], Edward Monroe, Cisero F. ("Pink"), Columbia Anna and Calvin Abraham (died at birth). Robert Martin and Elizabeth moved to Bowie County, Texas after the settlement of his mother's estate and raised his family there. Elizabeth Jane Kemp Autrey died 30 October, 1879 and was buried in Antiock, Texa (now located on the Red River Army Depot property.) Robert Martin then married Sara Jane "Symathia" Scarborough 14 April 1880 in Maud, Bowie County, Tx. They had four children: Elonsio Cleveland, Thomas Dillard, Robert Martin Jr., and Arlena, all born in Bowie County, Tx. Robert Martin died 23 Nov 2929, Sara died 6 Jan 1947, and both are buried in Rock Creek Cemetery, in Maud, Bowie County, Tx. SYRIA S. AUTREY Syria was born 14 Feb 1842 in Perry Co. Al. He joined the Confederate Arm in 1861 at Monroe, La. Syria sustained a hand injury in the Mime Rune Campaign. He was taken to the hospital in Richmond, Va. and developed blood poisoning and he died of his wounds 17 Jan 1864. He never married. MARTHA ANN AUTREY Martha Ann was born 18 Sep 1843 in Perry Co., Al. and married Abraham R. Reed 23 Nov `873 in Lincoln Parish, La. Abraham Reed was already a farmer in Bowie County, Tex. as he and his first wife, Celia, were living there when their son, Albert N. Reed, was born. After marrying Martha Ann, Abraham and Martha returned to his farm in Bowie County, Tx. Abraham and Martha had six children: Sarah E., Susan Adealia, Spencer R., Ida, Abraham and Mtchell B. Abraham R. Died 10 Dec 1906 in Bowie County, Texas and 23 Dec 1923. Members of this family also moved to Coryell County, Texas. Abraham's father was in Texas in 1836 fighting to free Texas, and this family is in Texas by 1877. THOMAS JEFFERSON "DOC' AUTREY Thomas Jefferson was born 14 May 1845 in Perry Co., Al. He first married Cynthia Elizabeth Heard 19 Nov 1865; they had nine children: Lou Ella, Amanda Dorothy, Charles W., Sarah Viletta, Caldonia D., Susan Frances, William Penn, Edward Eugene, and Neil Jefferson. Cynthia Heard Autrey died 25 July 1884 and was buried in Fellowship Cemetery in Lincoln Parish, La. Thomas Jefferson Autrey then married Mary Henrietta "Mollie" Oliver Wise on 23 Sept 1885 in Lincoln Parish, La. Thomas and Mollie had five children: Floyd J., Infant, Collins R., Cynthia Cordia (Cordia lived to be in her early 90's) and Joe, all born in Louisiana. Thomas Jefferson died 21 Dec 1924 and Mollie died 17 Aug 1955; both are buried in Hamilton Memorial Cemetery, Dubach, Lincoln Parish, La. BIRD GRIFFIN AUTREY Bird Griffin was born 27 May, 1847 in Perry Co., Al. and married fist Georgia Ann Moncrief, 22 May 1868 in Union Parish, La. Bird Griffin enlised in the Confederate Army in July 1864, applied for a Confederate Pension in Texas on 30 Aug. 1913 and it was approved l Dec 1913. After his death, his widow received the pension. Bird Griffin and Georgia Ann had seven children: David J., Absalom W., Mary Lucinda, Malcomb L., Cora L., John Henry and Jeremiah "Jery" Myre. Many members of this this family went to Coryell and McLennon Counties, among others.Georgia died about 188 and her grave has not been located. Bird Griffin then married Mrs. Olevia "Levy" Hughes 3 May 1891 in Lincoln Parish, La. They moved to Coryell County, Texas in 1892. John H. Huges, her son by a previous marriage, also moved with them. She died 23 Mary 1924 in Gatesville, Coryell Co. Tex. and is buried in Litel Flock Cemetery in Gatesville, Coryell Co. Tx. He died 2 Mar 1922 in Waco, McLennon County, Tx., and is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Gatesville, Coryell Co., Tx. Bird Griffin and Olevia had no children. CHARLES HENRY AUTREY Charles Henry Autrey was born 4 Apr 1850 in the Autrey homeplace in Dubach, Lincoln Parish, La., and lived his entire life in this home. He married first Mary Jane "Dolly" Moncrief, 23 Nov 1873 in Lincoln Parish, La., they had four children: James Robert, Laura Alice, Elizabeth "Bettie" Bush and Mary Pearl, all born in the Autrey home. Mary Jane died 22 June 1888 in Lincoln Parish in the Autrey Family Cemetery behind the Autrey home. Charles Henry then married Willie Joanna Michael 2 Jan 1889 in Lincoln Parish, La.; they had four children: Emma Lucinda, Otha Joanna, Minta Lee and Dewey, all born in the Autrey family home in Dubach, Lincoln Parish, La. He died 27 Oct 1917 in Dubach, Lincoln Parish, La., and was buried by his first wife in the Autrey Family Cemetery in Dubach. Willie Joanna died 4 Dec 1940 in Dubach, La. and is buried in the Henry Cemetery, Hico, La.
