    3. Absalom Autrey, b.l 1802 in N.C., married Elizabeth Norris on Feb. 22 , 1826 in Perry Co. Ala. Elizabeth Norris was the daughter of Thomas and Ceila (Teer) Norris. Fifteen children were born to them from 1827 to 1850. Thomas Norris was born abt. 1785 in Lincoln County, Ky. and died Nov. 1826. Elizabeth's mother, Celia Norris Autrey, and her five brothers and three sisters lived within a few miles of the Autrey's. Absalom Autrey purchased 160.24 acres of land from Anthony Wayne and Mary Norris, brother of Elizabeth, on 13 Jan. 1838. Thomas and Celia Norris lived in Caldwell Co. Ky. in 1810 and in Hopkins Co. Ky. from 1814 to 1817. In 1818 Thomas and Celia Norris moved with many others from western Ky. to the Alabama Terr. to Dallas, Co. Ala. In the fall of 1848, Celia Autrey moved with the Norris, Autrey, and Henry families to La. I have more information on this Norris family if you are interested in it. The Norris family was very much intermingled with the lives of the Autrey's; Absalom Autrey moved his large family to the Dubach, Lincoln Parish areas of La., and many of Elizabeth's family moved with him, as well as some of Absalom's siblings. The Henry family also married into the Autrey family. Hope this helps explain the connection.
