Does anyone remember Elliott Rabb Whitman? He wrote under the name of Coleman Crosby. He published articles on Early Settlers of Lincoln Parish. I remember he published my information on the Bagwell's. In the middle, he stopped and published the Richardson genealogy to collect more data for the Bagwell articles. He also wrote on the Huey's and Pardues. He collected and exchanged information on just about everyone. His daughter inherited his library and had them shipped to her home in Roma Italy after the death of her Mother. Her brother owns the Morning Paper in Ruston. Mr. Whitman, Arelia Breed, Mrs. H. L. Odom, Mr. Wm. Wilhite, Esther Leonard and I all worked together. Later during the centenial, I think the Ruston Daily Leader published articles on the first Lincoln Parish families. One of these families was the Feazel family who lived on the edge of Union and Lincoln Parish, La. Esther worked on the Greer and Kirkland lines. I think someone worked on the Atkins line. Mrs. H. L. Odom worked on the Slaughter, Grub, Dark and Feazel lines. Mr. Wilhite worked on the Feazel-Honeycutt- Wood and Farmer lines. When I was sick I bundled up my notebooks and mailed them to the Lincoln Parish Library for preservation. They were never in book form so this was my original copies, etc. You have to ask to see these books. They are kept on a cart in the back room. The families that were not related to me are in alph. order in some very large black notebooks. You might be surprised at what you will find. If any of you live near the Lincoln Parish Library, and want to view these files ask them "to show you the Gritzbaugh books which are in the back room on a cart." I asked that they not be released until many of the people were deceased. They were never edited and some of the comments on the family group sheets probably should have been removed. If my memory serves me correctly, Mr. Whitman was related to the Coleman, Crosby, Colvin, Rabb and Whitman families. Sorry I got carried away and realize that this is much to long, but will send it anyway. Thanks for letting me share in your web site. Sherry G. P. S. Also if any of you descend from old John Ferguson who left many Austin, Feazel, Wise, and other descendants in the area, Roy Austin is doing a book. He would like to hear from any one interested.
