As I'm typing the Jones Diary for the archives I've come across several entries that really have my curiosity stirred up. In 1928 on May 14th & 15th he makes the following statements "28 U.S. Army planes passed going west" and "42 planes passed going west". And then again in 1931 on June 4th "59 army planes pass west". Does anybody have any idea about where these planes were from or what they were doing? Mr. Jones was a farmer in the Simsboro area. In 1928 and 1931 that many planes flying over in one day must have really been an event! Come to think of it, that would be an event right now! Peggy
