The Southwest Louisiana Multicultural Association will hold its first festival, celebrating the many nationalities that have left their mark on the region, Saturday, Nov. 11, in Magnolia Park in St. Martinville. The festival begins at 9:00 with a flag raising ceremony and parade to the park, with the festival itself scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Lafayette Genealogical Society will have a booth there to encourage people to research their genealogy. If you plan to attend the festival, please consider spending an hour or two at the booth helping acquaint people with genealogy and the LGS. The officers of the society will be taking turns at the booth, but we need more help. If you can help, please let me know so we can finalize the schedule. Reply to jkiesel@louisiana.edu.
