I am looking for information on Theodule CHAUVIN. I have been researching him for many years. Theodule was born around 1827 in La., married Emelie LaLande and had three children: Eugene Edgar (1858), Camille Auguste (1861), and Francois Alfred (1864). I am a descendant of Camille. Theodule died on 30 July, 1892. This CHAUVIN line is not part of the large CHAUVIN line in Louisiana, according to family stories. Amazingly, this line is said to have descended from a wealthy Chauvin widow, who was allowed to escape from Haiti during the Haiti rebellion of 1791, with her five year old son. I believe Theodule's parents were Antoine Chauvin and Elizabeth Dumontet of New Orleans.
