I have been asked what type of information is acceptable for submission in the Laird Family Association Newsletter. Since this is a very important question, I thought that I would post my answer to the list. Any primary (original document) or secondary (information abstracted from an original document) source is acceptable for publication as long as it has a Laird connection. This information may include records pertaining to wills, deeds, orphan court dockets, birth, death or marriage records, family bible records, obituaries, census records, family histories, etc. The newsletter will also publish queries, earliest known Laird ancestors, family reunions, or any other information that relates to the Laird Family Association. When submitting the information to the newsletter, you must include your source. As an example, if you are submitting a brief history of your ancestor as it appears in a book, then you should include the title, author, publisher, copyright date, and page numbers on which the article appears. This will allow proper credit to the person who originally published the work. I believe that anyone submitting information to the LFA newsletter should be properly recognized for their kind deed, and personal support of the Laird Family Association. This is why all submissions will list the name and e-mail address of the person who submitted the information. This also allows other Laird researchers the opportunity to communicate with the submitter. You have two methods that you may use to submit your information. First, you may e-mail your information to me at my e-mail address plairdhoward@aol.com Second, you may send the information to my home address. Patricia Laird Howard 7254 S. Dennis Blvd. Broken Arrow, OK 74014 Sincerely, Patricia Laird Howard Newsletter Editor
