    3. Well James died in Indiana and Julia headed west with her kids Jabez Hammond and Maria Hammond to Cowley County, KS I believe. I think that they all are buried south of Winfield in the Tannehill Cemetery. Jabez married Nancy Tannehill and Maria married Richard Tannehill (Nancy's Dad). Jabez died 12/27/1883 in Winfield according to my notes. Julia died 9/4/1883 in Winfield too. I have received no replies to my query to the Laird list yesterday. Iam I correct to assume that we are the only descendants of our Samuel Lard presently on the list.? Wondering if you have made other contacts through this list. I am envious of your trip to Kansas. Hopefully someday I will able to go back there too and dig.You lucky retired girl.Have you been to the Kansas History Museum in Topeka? There has to be some good stuff on the family there.
