I am researching Samuel Laird b. 1770 d. 1838. He married Rebecca Hammond in Vermont in 1800. Children included Julia, Samuel Jr., Horatio Nelson and Charles. In 1820 the entire family moved to N. Madison, IN. Rebecca and Samuel were later divorced and he remarried fathering several other children. I am a descendant of Julia who married James Hammond and later moved to Kansas. James and Julia were my GG grandparents. I have seen the Laird spelling as LARD as well. Pat Journeay New Lister
