My Earliest Known Laird Ancestor... I've been told I'm probably descended from James M. Lard (Laird) b 1831 in TN married Mary b 1835 but John Lard (Laird) married Nancy Montgomery, date of marriage Oct. 19, 1843, in St. Francois County, MO and that's where my Lairds are from. Not sure... The part I AM sure of is the next generation: John William Laird b 1856, m Martha Ann King who died Jan 15, 1958; -John L.
