Yours were in the same place at the same time My unknown LAIRD, mother of William GARRISON, would have been, at best, a sister to Hezekiah LARD. So my question to you and others on the list would be - - did Hezekiah have a sister who had a boy child in 1830? And - did Hezekiah have a brother by the name of Jesse? My GARRISON family stayed in Wayne Co. IL for another generation. My father was born there in 1900 His father, William Mahlon GARRISON and mother, Lelah Eileen (PITTMAN) and their four children - Daphne, Lloyd Sherman, Ivan Joe, and Norman Roosevelt (my father) moved to Alberta, Canada in 1903. There are many cousins - both Garrison and Pittman - still there. No one knows or will tell anything about the birth of William in 1830 except that his parents were probably not married and the maternal grandparents raised William with the help of Uncle Jesse LAIRD.
