Robert, I agree the uneducated would probably think that the Coat of Arms can be used by anyone. The web site should have a caption that states, coat of arms of William Laird of Glenhuntley, 1777. It should also explain that William Laird has sole rights to bear the coat of arms, and that this right would not include all persons having the surname Laird, or the Laird surname in their ancestry.
