OPR (Old Parochial Records) 18th December 1780 John Laird in Newton and Margaret Mowat his spouse had a daughter baptised named Janet before witnesses Andrew Sutherland and Harry Horn both in Houstry 23rd May 1786 John Laird and Marg. Mowat in Strath had a son baptised named Alexr witnesses Donald Miller & Donald Cotter both in Strath 1st December 1802 William Laird Jun in Gersay & Jean Oliphant his spouse had a son baptised named John before witnesses George Mackiver & Robert Donaldson both soldiers in the Caithness Leigin. This child's name was omitted to be put in its proper place. 12th April 1805 Margaret witnesses William Millar in Mireland m. William Oliphant in How Parish of Wick 19th January 1807 William Laird in Gersay & Jean Oliphant his spouse had a daughter baptised Jannet before witnesses William Millar Mirelander and William Oliphant in How, Parish of Wick 12th January 1815 William Laird in Gersay Jane Oliphant his spouse had a son baptised named Alexander before witnesses David Swanson Mireland Parish of Wick and John Creach in Gersay
