Classification: Cemetery Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DCB.2ACE/132 Message Board Post: While on a summer research trip to Baton Rouge, I encountered a ledger book that provides documentation on the first 132 recorded burials in Jewish Cemetery, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I photocopied the pages in the book, and I would be delighted to provide a lookup service for these records. Until the 1940s, the only Jewish house of worship in Baton Rouge was Temple Beth Israel (original known as Congregation Shaari Chesed), and this congregation founded the cemetery (as Hebrew Burial Ground) and maintains it to this day. Let me know if I can help, --David Mayer
