HI: I'm researching CHARLES BROWN, born in 1839 in Norwood, LA. He married AMANDA HOWARD, b. 1848. Their children: James b. 1863 George, b. 1864 William, b. 1865 Charles, b. 1870 Freeman, b. 1872 Thomas "Tom", b. 1874 Estella, b. 1875 A.J., b. 1879 Charles' son, Charles (my gggranddad) was married three times -- to EMILY WALLACE ZELSER (my granddad's mother), Their children: Savannah, b. 1900 Charles b. 1903 James, b. 1905 Mattie, b. 1907 Theodore b. 1909 And to LUCY, born in 1883 Their children: Martha Alvin Ruffin Rosa Cryer Olivia Cryer (Olivia and Rosa were Charles' stepchildren and Lucy's children) And he married ROSA. Charles and Rosa's child: Arleasia As you can see, Charles Brown had many children and stepchildren. Their descendants are all over the Baton Rouge area. My granddad remembers working on the Norwood Plantation in the early 1900s. I'd like to trace the Charles Brown born in 1839.
