HI: I am researching CHARLES H. BROWN SR., born in 1839 in Misssissippi. He moved to NORWOOD, LOUISIANA, and was raising a family there. Family legend says that Charles was a master carpenter and built many homes. The alleged lynching supposedly occurred in 1879 or 1880. I have found his widow, AMANDA BROWN, in the 1880 Census, with their children, so I know he died before the census was taken. Any leads/suggestions on how to research the circumstances of his death are welcome. Thanks! Kberry Researching: BROWN, CARTER, MCG(H)EE in East Baton Rouge/East Feliciana Parishes, Louisiana
