    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BARNETT, NORWOOD, SMITH Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DCB.2ACE/38.64.1.2 Message Board Post: I have a William Carter BARNETT, 1841-1864, died in Jonesburg while serving with the Confederate Army. This is from Stiles and Adams, The History of Ancient Wethersfield, CT, p. 642. I have not connected him to my family, but the names fit. Thomas Booker BARNETT, who moved to MS in 1838, m. Margaret NORWOOD and had at least two sons, Joseph H. and Benjamin. According to a respected East Baton Rouge genealogist, there was a third son. Joseph (1830-1881) m. Mary Elizabeth SMITH (1839-1924) in 1869 and they had three children, including William Dortch "Willie" BARNETT (1870-1962). The family lived in The Plains/Zachary area of East Baton Rouge Parish. I am very interested in sharing information with BARNETT descendants.
