Does anyone in Baton Rouge know of relatives of the late heavyweight boxer Henry Clark? Clark was a local Baton Rouge fighter, a top-ranked heavyweight in the 1970's, died in 2000 at the age of 55 or 56. My dissertation research is still missing his date of birth in 1944 or 1945. His obituary in August, 2000 lists the names of many brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, but I have been unable to reach any of them by phone. One of his brothers is Julius Stampley, cited as living in Baton Rouge at the time of the funeral two years ago. If anyone can put me in touch with his kin, or directly provide his date of birth, it would be a research godsend. Thanks! Andrew Lindsay (Univ of Toledo)

The Covington Library is sponsoring a session entitled "Learn About the Basics of Genealogy" with a presentation by Guest Speaker - Michael McGrath, Director Slidell Family History Center. Anyone interested in learning more about the use of LDS FHCs may want to try and attend this session. This session is open to the public, no reservations are required and it is of course FREE. I'm sorry for the late announcement concerning this meeting, but we had no advance notice from the Library. She was married to Joseph Mayer, who came from Baaden, Germany in 1840. Her obituary lists that the "minister's" name as Hugo Grimm. We believe that this "minister" may have come from Louisiana. The newspaper article that we found did not indicate his church affiliation. We want to know if Hugo Grimm was a Jewish Rabbi who came for the funeral. I am trying to determine whether my ancestors were Jewish and concealed this fact. I would like to know if I have Jewish roots. If you have any information that would help, please let me know.
