    1. [LAEASTBA] OLD Geezers :
    2. Subject: Geezers "Geezers"(slang for an old man) are easy to spot: At sporting events, during the playing of the National Anthem, Old Geezers hold their caps over their hearts and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them. Old Geezers remember World War I, the Depression, World War II, Pearl Harbor,Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing, not to mention Vietnam. If you bump into an Old Geezer on the sidewalk, he will apologize. If you pass an Old Geezer on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Geezers trust strangers and are courtly to women. Old Geezers hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection. Old Geezers get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth on TV or in movies. Old Geezers have moral courage. They seldom brag unless it's about their grandchildren. It's the Old Geezers who know our great country is protected, not by politicians or police, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country. This country needs Old Geezers with their decent values. We need them now more than ever. Thank God for Old Geezers! Pass this on to all the Old Geezers you know

This is for the convenience of the parishioners. Since most churches in Baton Rouge are less than 100 yrs old, you can write or call the church where your family was baptised for a copy of the records. If you know about where they lived, perhaps I can pin point which church they were baptised at if you don't know what church it is. CherrylM

At this time, they only go up to 1899. I don't know how many years must pass before they publish the records, but I did hear some where they were set to publish the 1900-1910 records, so I guess many years must go by before the records are made public.

Surnames: Kennedy, McKenna, McKinney Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DCB.2ACE/152 Message Board Post: My 2nd great grandmother, Elizabeth KENNEDY, is said to have been born in East Baton Rouge Parish LA about 1835. Her father, David KENNEDY and his wife (name unknown) were born in Ireland. I have no info on when they arrived in the US or why. The family was Catholic. Elizabeth married George Edward MCKENNA or MCKINNEY (various spellings), who was b. about 1835 in Ireland according to the 1870 Moniteau Co. MO census. There is no marriage info on them in MO: could they have met and married in LA? Would love to find marriage/birth records for Elizabeth, immigration & death info on David and wife, immigration on George. Would also like to correspond with any others researching this family.

Wife was Antoninia. At the time they would have had children.. Vincent, Gusto and Joe. I don't know if any other family members came with them. I need to verify if there were any records that states which boat they arrived on and if there were any other family members with them. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.
