Henry Hill, the grandfather on your Robert Henry Hill. My line comes from Thomas Jordan Hill's second wife, Rosa Pearson. We know that Thomas Jordan had been captured while serving in the Civil War and spent some time in Louisiana. He also fought in the battle of Mansfield. The Pearson family lived in Mansfield (though Rosa was still a child at the time of the battle). Later, after his first wife's death, we know that he spent time in DeSoto Parish rounding up stray cattle. He may have met the Pearsons at that time or earlier. We have been trying for many years to find out who Rev. Robert Henry Hill's parents were. We only know that he was born in North Carolina about 1817, married Agnes Shelton Menefee in 1840.
