In response You did not give your name unless I missed it. One of my grandfather's sisters married a Powell. Her maiden name was Griffith and her parents were E.J. Griffith and Margaret Jane Pace Griffith and they are buried at Grove Hill. I do believe that his first name was Custis Powell but I am not certain. The Griffiths lived at Pelican at one time so probably this is the same family. Do you have any Griffiths in your line. I have Hart's in a down line that came out of Georgia to DeSoto Par. Richard Jefferson Hart b. 1826 married Epsa Bazer of DeSoto Par. Richard's parents were (according to LDS records) were William Henry Hart and Sarah Granberry Herrington. A Baptist church, Old Hazelwood founded in 1850 (no longer in existence}might have been located on this road in Grand Cane LA and there is an existing cemetery Old Hazelwood that I am trying to locate.
