We lived next door to it and went to school there in the early 50's, but dont know the story behind it. Have heard the building & land was donated by someone and named for his daughter Lula. 2/6/01 In response to Mr. LaGrange's question about the family of Warrick Fergason: In the 1860 Census, at page 21 of the printed version, House 221 / Family 237, we find: Fergason, Warrik (spelling uncertain) Age 47 Male Farmer Real estate $400, Person estate $228 value. Born in Illinois Fergason, Mary Age 48, Female, Matron, born Texas Children are: Mary A. Age 24, Domestic duties, born Texas Joseph Age 21, Farm laborer, born Louisiana Henry H. Age 11, born Louisiana Rebecca Age 8, born Louisiana Also in the next Family, W. Fergason Jr., age ?? Male, Farmer, Real estate $400, Personal estate $1,980. Born ?? If it helps to place the location, a near neighbor is a very large land-owner, Jos. Wilder. Mr. Fergason doesn't appear to be in the 1870 Census. (n.b. In Louisiana the "counties" are referred to as "parishes." Only state in the union to do so, I believe.) Hope that helps and someone else may have further information. Nancy W.

(Christopher?) Waddell that may have bee born in Logansport, LA 01/12/1865. He later lived in Itasca, TX where he married a Lovina McCarty who was also from Logansport, LA. They moved to Marysville, TX where they had a son named Travis Palmer Waddell who was born in 1900. James died in Marysville in 1906 and is buried in the Marysville, TX cemetary. Hope someone can help we are stalled out on Kames C. Waddell and need a birth place, confirmation of the date and his parents names. We are in western New York state so the research on this is difficult without help. Perhaps the 1870 census of that area? He should have been about 5 then.

I met a lady names Francis on the net that gave me alot of info......her husbands decendent was Matilda Jane Golding, she found the Golding on the 1840 Coosa Co,AL census & then on the 1850 Mont Co,AL census. She gave me all the names of the children of Thomas & Elandes(Ellen)(they changed the spelling from Golding to Golden when they moved to LA abt 1850-52. She said that Gracey Lurana died at the age of 40 & gave legal guardianship of her children to Thomas. Which of these were you a decendent of? Did you grow up in the Desoto Parish area? Did you marry a Cassell? I knew a Darrell Cassell, used to run with a bunch of those boys (cousins I think) Ronnie Hicks, Kenneth Hatcher, & Rodney Harvey. Do you have Ellens maiden name? On KindredKonnections I found the following information: Thomas Golden- Born 1806 SC Died 1880 Desoto Parish,LA married Elandes Ellen (last name unknown)in 1829 in Montgomery Alabama She was born in 1812. There is no date of death listed for her. This Thomas Golden had a son named William Waymond born in Alabama and died in Desoto Parish. He also had a daughter Gracey Lurana who became my g-grandmother. Hope this helps.

I traced it back to Thomas Golden. It seems Thomas Golden was born in 1806 SC Married in 1829 in Montgomery Co. Alabama to Elandesellen (last name unknown)born 1812(place unknown) One of their offsprings was Gracey Lurana Golden who married my G-Grandfather John W. Fielder. It appears that he was born 1820-1830 and married Arcene Rambin (Listed page or entry 331 in 1850 deSoto parish census)December 24, 1850. They had three chidren, one of whom was my ggrandmother, Mahala Frances Phillips, who later married a Mr Hugh Bickham from Ohio. Any leads or information on Mr. Phillips, Mr. Bickham, Miss Rambin, or anyone else in this family will be much appreciated.
