Pet's name was Bertha Ann Hesser. She married Joseph Albert Hesser. Bertha Ann was the sister of my great grandmother Fannie Nails Ward. I have a picture of Fannie and her husband Will. I am in touch with the descendents of the rest of Bertha's sisters and brothers. I would dearly love to talk to anyone with any information about Bertha. Until today all we had was the nickname of Pet. Trying to do a full family tree on Mason N. Nails the father of Bertha, Fannie, Barney, & Sam. Also, possibly a Hannah. Bertha and Joe lived at Rambin. He married my ggrandmother, Minnie L. Pack, on Dec 19, 1917, location unknown. I have recently been sent a letter my ggrandmother wrote on Jan 12, 1918, from Logansport, LA. John was a farmer, but at the time of this letter, was working at a sawmill. I do know that John was married before my ggrandmother, and to the best of my knowledge her surname was Dean. They had 4 sons: Clarence, Claude, Ott and Luther. The youngest of these sons was born in 1913, which would put the death of Mrs. Campbell (Dean) after 1913 and before 1917. If anyone has any information about this, please let me know. This has been a dead end for me for close to 10 years now. Thanks, Vic

Hi Debbie and all! My gr-uncle, Eason Leroy WHIDDON (sometimes spelled as Whidden) married a girl we believe was namred Carrie (Carrington) Slater in about 1900-1904. Haven't found that marriage certificate, but I have an incredible picture of the two. They both were drop-dead good-looking, and he was a real character to boot.... I believe they might have married in Mississippi or Louisiana, but again not sure. She died after second baby. One was named Slater (boy), the other a girl, was Carrington Whiddon. I have never seen ANYTHING on the name SLATER, and I have none of their blood in me, but I would love to find out if anyone else knows anything about this tragic, beautiful girl, who adored my uncle... or her family.
