    1. [LACLAIBO] Re: MONCRIEF family after Civil War
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MONCRIEF,GREEN(E) and THOMPSON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CCB.2ACE/228.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Jo, We had a great time at the Green(e)/Thompson family reunion in Claiborne Parish, just off Alt 2. I got to the Autrey House and saw the family gravesite behind it. Looked like a large dead tree fell just to the right of the cemetery, not too long ago. Good thing it missed the graves. Didn't go inside the house- will do that on our next visit. Our reunion was at the old Felton Green house- also a dog trott style over 100 years old. Bird's wife Ann Moncrief- do you know where she is interred? I believe I read on one of your sites, that she was his first wife, then he remarried. Would like to find where she is and when she died. Jo, do you remember where you learned that Caleb J. Moncrief's middle name was Jackson? My records show either J. or James, but I can't for the life of me, remember where I found the J. stood for James. Caleb and Mary Ann Owens are buried in the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery- I guess it would be Lincoln Parish. Anyway, it is just down the road from the Harmony Chapel Methodist Church in Hico, Lincoln Parish, LA. There are other Moncrief's buried in the same area as Caleb and Mary Ann. Their headstone reads C.J. Moncrief 12 Mar 1821 - 19 Sep 1909 ; Mary A. wife of C. J. Moncrief 19 Aug 1836 - 25 Mar 1912. When I figure out who belongs with whom, I'll send the rest of the information to you, okay? Just behind C.J. and M.A. is John M. Moncrief 04 Oct 1845 - 29 Sep 1917 and Nancy wife of J. M. Moncrief 07 Apr 1838 - 10 Nov 1920. John M. was the first child of Caleb and his first wife, Mary Ann Knight. I assume she is buried in Meriwether County, GA. She last appears in the 1850 census for Meiwether County, GA with Caleb and their four children. Did I send you the names of all of Caleb's children? Looking forward to hearing from you again, Cousin Lisa
