    3. I am hoping someone will recognize these Cook men and how they relate to the children of Benjamin & Minerva J. (Hawthorn/e) Goodson. Probate Packet #2562 Claiborne Parish, LA, Guardianship for Children of Benjamin & Minerva (Hawthorn) Goodson. Benjamin Goodson and Minerva Hawthorn have two children: Telida M and Mary V. Goodson. Both parents die, by or before 22 October 1864, Claiborne Parish, LA Benjamin Goodson, is the son of David and Elizabeth (Bell) Goodson, living in Claiborne Parish, LA, at the time. The children must have tutors [guardians] David and Elizabeth (Bell) Goodson are appointed tutor and under tutor. Soon after the appointment, there is opposition to Elizabeth (Bell) Goodson, retaining, guardianship due to an oath she made to the Confederacy, the opposition is filed by her sister in-law, Jane (Cotton) Goodson, then, Jefferson W. Cook seeks and is given Guardianship of these minor children, and James M Cook is Under Tutor [Guardian]. Jefferson W. Cook dies on August 11, 1868, after his death, James M. Cook, (Bienville Parish, LA) seeks and is given Guardianship of these minor children, with Pleasant R. Beard, Under Tutor. James M Cook states that he is their nearest relative and he is appointed with- out bond. He also states that although the children do not have interest in any property in Louisiana, they probably do in Mississippi. Appreciate any help Elnora Frances Cook-Wyrick
