I have occasionally run across a tombstone, where the burial was actually in another state or cemetery. I don't really know why someone felt the need to erect a memorial locally, but sometimes they do. If you have reason to doubt the burial was really there, try this: Straighten out 2 wire clothes hangers. Then bend about one fourth of the length of each one downward at about a 45 degree angle. Hold one in each hand using the short part as a handle. They should stick straight out in front of you, parallel to each other and to the ground. Walk over the area slowly. The wires cross as you walk over a grave, possibly because the magnetism of the earth is disturbed when a grave is dug. I phoo-phooed the idea when I first heard it a year ago. After all, I believe in God, not in hocus-pocus. But others said it really worked. So this past spring, I made 4 pairs and took everybody I could persuade to a cemetery. What better place to test it out? I had been told that about 1 of 4 people could do it. I was hoping that, if it worked at all, 1 or 2 of the 7 of us could do it. Imagine my shock when 4 could do it excellently, and the other 3 pretty well. Oh, and be sure to try to force the wires to cross while you are still in your own living room. It's almost impossible to make those flimsy wires do anything!
