Anyone out there researching BUCKNER families in Claiborne Parish, LA? My ancestor was William Meredith BUCKNER, b: 1803 GA. He married Nancy S. Hawthorn in GA. This couple had most of their children in GA and then moved to LA where they had their youngest daughter, Elizabeth Emerline Buckner in 1851. Elizabeth married in Claiborne Parish in 1870 to Alvie Loranzo Dow Avery. Does anyone know when William Meredith Buckner died or where he is buried? I have not been able to find out much about this Buckner family and I'm hoping to find another Buckner researcher out there to work with.
