I don't know how many people are on this list, probably hundreds. Each one gets a separate copy of each message; a single useless line may get replicated hundreds of times. In the case Bob mentions, it would have made sense for those replying to do so "off list", directly to the poster. It seems that much excessive quoting is due to inexperience editing. I encourge all to learn to use your editing software; like touch typing, it is a skill that will serve you well in the future. While I'm up here on this soap box, may I address the html problem? Most mail programs come configured to send messages in html format. HTML messages are typically three times the size of the exact same messages in plain text format. I suspect some sinister plot plot by microsoft to bog down the internet and convince folks that they need new software. Anyway, consider turning off html in your mail program. -- Onward!
