Posted on: Claiborne Parish La Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/La/Claiborne/10151 Surname: ------------------------- James P. Youngblood married Ida Crye in 1894 in Claiborne Parish, LA. I would like to contact anyone researching the Youngblood name.
Blackstone W. Bailey, b. 10-1-1849, (probably Talbot or Harris Co., GA) d. 8-19-1901 in San Saba County, TX, while living next to Allen Kilgore Bailey born 1849 or 1850 in Talbot or Harris Co. I surmise these 2 men were cousins or even possibly brothers. Allen moved to Claiborne Parish, LA with his parents about 1858, before he was 9 years old. Since these two men are neighbors in 1900-01, there must be a close connection. Blackstone as a first name suggests respect for the legal profession, not magicians in this context. Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks for reading. Tom

I have looked at all of the maps and have been able to place the family farm, the Aunts and Uncles (Great, GG, GGG and GGGG)for my Goodwins and collateral lines. Would be interested in the Murray marriages. George was the middle name for several of them. Last night after getting the census info placed in my program, I decided to try the sons SSI and located one in Jackson Parish. I went to Genweb and looked at the cemetery records. On the third try I located, the parents and one son and possible wife. I then tried "411, White Pages" and found a "Jr" in Jackson Parish. I have already written my letter. This is exciting, I have almost given up on this family and it seems about once a year I locate another tiny piece to this family. See, it keeps paying to go back and check over and over. Took 30 years to find my fathers family. I have 22 to go on this one. again thanx, Ley K O'Connor ============================== Ancestry.com Genealogical Databases http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist2.asp Search over 2500 databases with one easy query!

I have a Merrill and his son Andrew Ritchey. Merrill married into the Goodwin family that lived in Haynesville since 1860. He married in Mississippi though. Merrill drowned in the Little Red River while in the Civil War. In 1963 Clinton Goodwin (son of Delbert G. {son of C. R. G.} & Sallie G.{daughter of John Thomas G.})said that Andrew Richey's descendants lived near Monticello & Warren, Arkansas. Ley

Dear Linda: I am transcribing the Claiborne Parish Census of 1870. I don't have an Index yet. I ordered one, but they didn't ship it to me in a timely manner. If you know the page nos., I might be able to locate them in the census. I have transcribed the first three wards of this parish (some 7-8,000 names), so I may have already done them, but I can't remember all of those names; getting too old and senile!!!! Let me know if I can assist you, Ray Bartlett rbartlet@bellsouth.net ______________________________ Linda Watkins wrote: > Posted on: Claiborne Parish La Queries > Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/La/Claiborne/10141 > > Surname: MERRITT, MERRICK, STINSON > ------------------------- > > Trying, once again, to connect with my Louisiana roots. > > My g grandmother was Levie (Olevia) Merricks (Merritt).
