O. Box 17706, Shreveport, LA 71138-0706 and may perhaps be found in your local library. Inscriptions of "new" Whithall cemetery are in VOL IV. I haven't been by those cemeteries in several years but doubt the old cemetery is visible from hiway and likely will be difficult to find. In 1986 inscriptions as follow were found in the old cemetery. I was not aware there were two Whitehalls. The one that I went to is just across the street from a church. There are some very old graves down at one end and more recent ones at the other. I took a lot of pictures of Slack Graves if anyone is interested send me an email and I will see if I have any that you are interested in. nola@cox-internet.com

My ggrandfather Dobbins had a son with middle name Aswell. His wife was daughter of B.W. Wilson in area now in Lincoln Parish. This area is very close to present Bienville parish line. The parish lines have changed several times in the past 150 years. Try Lincoln/Union Parish near Vienna. Also in the Woodville community in Jackson Parish for 1860. My Dobbins family has no other connection to the Aswell family that I have found. Good luck.
